Roses in December

“Where Memories Bloom, Love Never Fades.”

Sir James Matthew Barrie once wrote that God gave us memory so that we might have roses in December. “Roses in December” is a poignant story that explores the power of memory and love in the face of Alzheimer's. The story follows, a widow who volunteers at a nursing home, and a widower who suffers from Alzheimer's. The widow discovers a notebook filled with unsent letters the old man wrote years ago. As she reads them aloud to him, they trigger flashbacks of his past, revealing his joys and sorrows, his hopes and regrets, and his undying love. Anna finds herself drawn to Henry, and soon they develop a bond that transcends time and illness. But as the old man's condition worsens, the widow must decide whether to let him go or hold on to the roses in December.
